This week in science we were building our terrariums. Some things we did to make our terrarium a terrarium is that we put some plants into the bucket and we also watered the plants so that they wouldn't die. We didn't water the plants too much because then they would die. Then we had to put some saran wrap on top of the terrarium because we wanted the water to evaporate and we also wanted it to have a water cycle so that we wouldn't have to water our plants everyday. We also put some beetles in our terrariums and we put sawdust because the beetles need sawdust in order to live.

We also had to observe our terrariums. We decided that we would first look at the sides and the top of the terrarium. We noticed that there were condensation all around on the side and top of the terrarium. We thought that all that condensing happened because we covered that top of the terrariums. Next we looked at the soil and then we noticed that the soil looked very dry in the sides except in the middle, there was some wet soil. We looked at the plants that we grew and we noticed that our pea plants grew the quickest we didn't know why.

The next thing that we noticed was that our barley seeds grew last. Then we thought that maybe somehow we put the water in a different spot than we were supposed to. The last thing we looked at in our terrariums was where the beetles were and we noticed that all of the beetles were trying to hide in the sawdust. This some of the things that we observed in our terrariums.
